A little over a year ago, I became involved with changes to the
website of a small non-profit. I was somehow quickly given the job
as committee chairperson for the website. Anyone who has volunteered
to be on the Board of a small non-profit probably understands how
that happened. I am not a computer person or a web person. I
am an idea person and I had some definite ideas about content I
wanted added to our site, as well as services for our members and
the community in general. The people at Crystaldi have been very
helpful in bringing my ideas into fruition. Our site now has an
MP3 function, videos may be viewed on the site, advertising on the
site through donations has been added, a constantly updated and
printable list of our community meetings through the state was added,
and so forth. The brochure we have printed and provide to the public
may now be downloaded from the site. All these changes and additions
required substantial time and effort, and the Crystaldi staff walked
me through each step and adjusted themselves to my limited communication
abilities when it comes to computers. A couple of times, we went
so as me faxing to them what I visualized as web pages, with the
suggested content written out long hand. They are a helpful and
patient lot, and have had a very quick response time to my questions.
Prior to me being given the job as chairperson, Crystaldi had already
developed a system for handling our yearly events that included
placing the announcement on our site and web payment. I strongly
recommend them. |
